While we pride ourselves on our historical accuracy, and hope to make our shows as educational as possible, it is sometimes more appropriate to present a fantasy or fairy-tale theme, as we do at the Gig Harbor Renfaire.

Our little troupe of players is fairly versatile, and we can tailor each show to some degree, to suit the venue and the interests of the audience. We can emphasize action, competition, humor, history, chivalry, horse training or medieval gaming as the situation demands.

You might see our mounted knights perform a drill routine with flags and banners, a salute to the pomp and pageantry of the medieval parade.

You might see authentic games of the period, in which mounted knights compete with each other using the skills that make them invincible in battle. You might see them tilting at the quintain at a full, thundering gallop, spearing rings with a lance or throwing spears from horseback.

You might see armored knights on foot battling one another with flashy and dramatic swordplay.

You might see mounted knights tilting at armored footmen with their lances, or doing battle with them sword-to-sword.

You might be entertained by fierce swordfights that unexpectedly turn out to be humorous bits of theatrical farce.

You might even see two mounted knights charging down the list toward each other, lances leveled for a bone-jarring, teeth-rattling, armor-denting, lance-snapping joust!

And you might just accidentally learn a bit of history, as well, as the herald explains the historical context of what you are seeing.

These are some of the things you might see at a Warhorse Guild performance. The show might be short or long, serious or farcical, but it will always be entertaining, educational... and memorable!
